I am planning to upgrade my slot1 PIII 450 100mhz FSB to an 850 or higher PIII, does it matter if I get one with a FSB at 133mhz? Or does it have to be running at the same speed as my original? Thanks for any advice...

What motherboard do you have? Chances are its a BX board so therefore the new processor would have to have a 100Mhz FSB.

I did that upgrade a few months back with a Supermicro P6SBA and Pentium III 350 - I got hold of a slocket adaptor and a 850 Pentium III, 100Mhz FSB - worked perfectly although you do need to flash your BIOS in most instances.

You also need to make sure you board will support the newer models of the PIII. Alot of the older BXs can provide proper voltages to the cpu
