New processer help

I just bought the new GA 7N400 Pro 2 mobo with and AMD XP Barton 2800+. I check my system settings and it says it is running at 1.25 GHz. WTF? Why is it doing this?

it sounds like your FSB is too low. The 2800+ runs at an FSB of 166. 166 x 12.5 = 2.075GHz, 100 x 12.5 - 1.25 GHz. Looks like the FSB is set to 100 when it should be 166.

Edit: btw... In my experiences with Athlon XP's, when you have the FSB correct, your mobo will recognize the chip as an Athlon XP 2800+ and will not give you the actual speed in MHz.

Will this raise my temperatures of the CPU at all? It is already idleing at like 60C, but I'm using the same hs/f I used on my TB 2200+. I'm awaiting the Zalman 7000 AlCU to come in though.

Any suggestions or comments?

It shouldn't affect your temps. 60C is too high IMHO, but the chips are rated for 90C!!! My 2800+ is at 48C under 100% load.
