New problem today

Starting today, when I load the forums or go to a new page on the forums, my brpwser freezes up and I get an hourglass with the message transferring data from eyewonder.com.

Any ideas? Ive tried with Firefox and IE6

Same experience here. Whenever I load a page in Firefox, the lower left corner shows "waiting for ad.doubleclick.net".

Oh, Anandtech, why have thou broken my internets?

I get constant 30-40 second pauses when I load any page.
I am useing my company standard IE 6 🙁

Still same issue. Getting different ad addresses...eyewonder...doubleclick...couple others. Same as SMOG 30-90 secs freezes PER PAGE, and it locks up my browser completely. A shame too I neff all day at work! Tried with IE and FF.

At work, the forums were crashing Firefox with the latest updates.

IE7
I also had problems late 11/30 through most of the day of 12/1. Everything seems fine now. I did bump up my MS pop up blocker and Kaspersky settings (thinking AT ad CRAP), but not sure if that was what caused it, or if Anandtech remedied the situation before I made the changes.

How's everyone else fairing? Any problems with the Freezing?

EDIT----- After "these" settings were changed, AT works fine.
Windows pop up blocking set to High instead of Medium.
Kaspersky 7.0 Internet Security Pop up blocker and Anti Banner enabled within' Firewall settings.

Same issue this morning at home on IE7 and at work on FF portable and IE6. Yesterday I was using FF 3.03 but upgraded to 3.04 this morning same issue. Entire browser locks up for 30-60 secs.

JulesMaximus: Youre RIGHT about your sig and Harley riders! /wave from a VTX1800 rider...what a Harley hopes to be when it grows up 😉

edit: added Adblock Plus to Firefox and blocked several ad addresses...still same problem. Very frustrating as I browse these forums alot.

Same problem here, IE 7 works fine from home but firefox is a no-go. From work IE7 was working off and on yesterday, any idea if this can be fixed from the anandtech end?

Tried IE6 and 7, logged in and logged out. I can't duplicate the problem. Everything loads fine.

Count me in as well. IE6

This locks tighter than a drum.

12-03-08 @09:51 EST everything seems fine today.

I'm going to do a quick check here and see if there's any effect. I'm going to undo the settings I did (above) and see if I can still get in with no problems.

Will edit soon

EDIT---- Lowered the security settings on everything I changed and all was fine. That's weird, because for 1.5 days I was not able to get in here without it locking/freezing up on me.

Very surprised that after this long, that at least one of the Mods here would've let us in on the joke..........?

Hi guys, I'm new here.

It seems like I'm unable to start a new thread, and the forum help does not seem to address this.

Do I have to clock a minimum number of posts before being able to start my own thread?

Thanks!

Not at all. What browser are you using? What happens when you try to start a thread?

I dont for sure know if its the same problem but this morning I kept getting redirected to static.fmpub.net

I had to add that site to my hosts file and point it at 127.0.0.1 just to get this site to open. The page would load as far as the top (where the ad banner goes) and then instantly redirect.
