my friend computer keep rebooting and smell something. the power supply abit hot. is it power supply dead or something?

If it's been generating a rotten egg, ie, fart smell and the dog was not in the room=bad PSU caps. With this unpleasent odor coming from the PSU combined with constant reboots, replace the PSU.

now new problem....
he can turn on the computer but cannot see the screen. also, there is no more smell. does anyone know wat's the problem?

If you have a spare PSU just hook it up. It does not have to be installed in the case.
Just unplug the suspect unit then hook up the spare. That should tell you something.

If your a "real pal", take the PSU out of your rig and see if it boots with it installed. 😀
