New Price Matching Credit Card=Citibank??

I am in a crappy position, I just signed up for the AMEX BLue two days ago, and I am still waiting for the card. But, in the mean time I had canceled my Citibank Mastercard, as I tried to cancel the card the sales rep sent me to thier "rescue" department to try and discourge me from canceling. I told him the reason why, and he said that Citibank also has the price protection plan. Not believing him, I said I hadn't seen much word of it on web as a card to use for pricematching, and told him I heard that AMEX Blue was the card of choice. Now I probablly will cancel the BLue card and try to get my Citibank card back if the price matching systems are the same....doh...I just cut it up yesterday....about 5 hours before this AMEX news was posted yesterday.

Anyways, does anyone else have a citibank MC that might be able to verfiy the details? I neglected to ask because I was SO confident in this BLUE card......doh...doh.....doh.....

i have both cards. the citibank PM plan is not very reliable from what i hear, and it does NOT match internet stores, which basically means it's useless.

The latest I heard is you have to pay $20 to Citibank for the enrollment of their Price Protection Plan per year. I have Citibank Platinum Master Card but U never enrolled their plan.

Make sure you read the fine print of any credit card saying they PM. I got my new Bank of America Platinum Check Card in the mail and saw that they do PM'ing, too. After reading the fine print, they will not accept any internet ads. Only real printed ads from stores. So, this wasn't even close to the PM'ing at AmEx.

Technically Amex is only supposed to accept printed ads if you following their terms and conditions word for word, but of course they don't enforce it.

CitiBank is a joke and a half, Their CSR's are idiots. I had a problem where I never received my bill so I called them and they said that it should be there any day. Called back the following week and the following week, until my payment was past due.

I was told they were sending out another bill to me and that the late charges would be reversed. Guess what they werent. I got ahold of someone who eventually whiped out the late fees (right before I was sent to collections).

Stupid citibank
