What's the ADC discount?
Apple Developer Connection. If you are a student you can pay $100 for a one year subscription where you will get programming info, tutorials, software, etc. You also get one copy of OSX, plus you will recieve another copy if they upgrade to 10.4 during your subscription. You are also allowed one major and a few minor hardware purchases. I bought a 12" PB loaded for $1400 a couple of years ago.I ended up selling both copies of Panther and Jaguar, along with all of the stuff they sent (not including the Tshirt) on ebay for something like $200.

Seriously, but don't forget you have to spend $100 first on the ADC membership as I understand it.

That still makes it $100 cheaper than EDU discount, plus all kinds of free stuff.

$1700 for a laptop? Sorry, I'll take a comperably-equipped Compaq A64 laptop for $500 less (Or my own branded slightly-lesser-equipped for $600 less)

Compaq doesn't make a comparable laptop (one with a 15" screen and 1" thickness). You're bullshit company that you keep plugging on these forums doesn't either so STFU.Originally posted by: EyeMWing

You can have your compaq, but when it comes to laptops nothing compares to the prettiness and elegance of a powerbook. I wish I had one, although I'm content with my Thinkpad.
