New Power Supply

Can anybody tell me why my processor is running 5 deg cooler now that I have a 400W PS vs. my old 250W PS?
I'm kinda curious as to why this is..

What kind is it? I know somw power supplies have extra cooling in them. I might be a better fan in the new one that sort of thing.

Maybe your new PSU doesn't get as hot. It could also be a better fan as Aragorn said. Since it has two fans it will exhaust air much better.

I don't know for certain, but I got the same results when I replaced my dying Enlight 340W with a 500W from CompUSA. Temps dropped at least 5C but I figured it was the dual fans. Whatever it is, I like it!

what cpu is it? socket-A?
I am guessing the intake fan on the power supply is pulling air away from below the socket (between mobo and the case) and thus cooling the socket thermistor. This will give you lower readings even if the actual cpu temps are the same.
