New power Supplies?

Which do you think is the better PSU out of these two

Enermax EG425P-VE SFMA 420W NoiseTaker Power Supply

vs

480W Butterfly Thermaltake Power Supply

And state your reasons why!

Both good. WHichever is cheaper is a good buy. I don't believe TT makes theirs though. They typically take items from OEM vendors, rebadge 'em, decorate 'em and call 'em TT, but both are qulity. Just buy the cheaper one. If same price buy the one that looks the coolest.🙂

IIRC Thermaltake psu's are rebadged Enlights.....and they are good units. In all honesty flip a coin or buy the cheaper of the two.

This isn't even remotely true. A quality 300 watter will run circles around a lot of generic 400 watters.

Definitely go for the cheaper of the two though...like everybody said both are quality units.

what seriously is going to make a difference between the two?

Sigh...I hope you're kidding.

PSU reviews

Power supplies are no different than motherboards or any other computer part. Each power supply is NOT made the same. I used to think it didn't matter as well...but ask around and you'll see that a cheap power supply can be THE biggest pain in the arse.

I thought Thermaltake PSUs were like their cases... and rebadged Chieftecs...

But as you said, Thermaltake are in the top group for PSU's alongside ones like Enermax and Antec... whichever one you get, I doubt you'll regret it.
