I like the simple and understated wheels. The overall proportions and looks...don't matter if I get to drive it. 😉

The 3,746cc twin-turbocharged flat six produces 700 horsepower and over 656 lb-ft of torque, which, according to RUF, enables the CTR3 to run from zero to 62 mph in 3.2 seconds and max out at 235 mph. Shifts come courtesy of a six-speed sequential manual gearbox.

For a mere ?380,000 plus VAT, you too can own one. I'm getting two.

😕 did you read the site?

First things first: Contrary to what was widely reported yesterday (including here), the RUF CTR 3 is not derived from the Porsche Cayman.

Nope I read what was widely reported. It really looks like it though.

A RUF is not a Porsche. RUF is its own manufacturer.

RUF is not a manufacturer, they're a tunning house, just like Saleen. If I were to say Saleen Mustang, I'm not wrong. BTW, RUF started by tunning the 911s.

Oh, wow! So now I guess I can call Saleen a manufacturer too since they did produce the S-7. I guess 35 cars a year do qualify for being a manufacture, regardless of how niche it is.

Edit: on Porsche chasis no less.

RUF is a German automobile manufacturer. Rufs are built from unmarked Porsche chassis. When a chassis arrives, RUF builds their own independent work into the car. Because RUF installs many of their own-made parts, the company is recognized as a manufacturer by the German government.

Recognizing that one of the weaknesses of the Porsche turbo was its four speed transmission, RUF Automobile responded to customer demand in 1981 with their own five speed. It provided distinct performance advantages and driving pleasure for the owners of the turbocharged six cylinder engine. In the same year RUF Automobile received the prestigious and coveted Manufactures? Certification from the German Federal Vehicle Offices.

Developments continued at an increasing pace and in 1987 the newest RUF high speed sports car, the CTR, received its certification for normal road use. This incredible car, a 469 bhp twin turbo coupé, exceeded the top speed world record for production cars on the Nardo Racetrack at a rate of 342 km/h!! It was at the time, and still today, a truly astonishing pace. In addition, this same year RUF Automobile GmbH became an approved manufacturer with the U.S. authorities for safety and emissions (NHTSA and EPA).

Although the company does design, distribute, and install its own aftermarket Porsche performance products around the world, it has been certified as an automobile manufacturer in Germany since 1981 and by the U.S. authorities since 1987.

Umm, thanks. It looks like ass. The originals are clear and yours is pixelated.

Allow me to edumacate you on how to view an image properly in its original size thus mitigating the pixelation that you spoke of. Wait, I think I just did.

I did, I have said desktop resolution. It was a FF rendering issue, n00b.

It still looks ass. B&W with possibly the worst font known to man. Good going.

Oh stfu already. Everybody and their trucking grandmothers know that RUF is "recognized" as a manufacturer. But calling them a "manufacturer" because they push out a few cars a years built on someone else's chasis is laughable at best.

OMG, I'm so PWNEEDZOR!!!!
