Hi guys,
My brother needs a device to play video on his TV.

The options I saw were the Archos 605 (with DVR station/Mini doc) or the Cowon A3.
Basically I've had some bad experience with the 605, but I've also heard of other people having trouble with the A3.

I was wondering if you guys can help me out, because I don't really know my way with players. Are there any better players for his needs? I think the less hassle with the better (for example, the need for a dvr station for the archos is kind of annoying). His price range is ~400, but the lower the better (as long as the player is solid) and battery life doesn't matter much.
 
There's no player out there with a perfect record, so you'll see complaints about both. Check out reviews from endgadget, anythingbutipod.com, and other sites to see what they say. I know that cowon has always been the king when it comes for supported formats so cowon will probably have the edge there.
