oooo it's purty and runs circles around Live Marketplace. Yes, I said it.
The web-based PS Store of old sucked balls, agreed. It wasn't exactly intuitive. I didn't have a big problem with it, and didn't really hate it as I got around it fine.
But this new one. Oooo. 🙂

Well, it's out now, and I gave it a whirl this morning.

I like it quite a lot. Not as good as the 360's store, but it's probably better than the Wii's now. Load times are long, but organization is good and navigation is way more intuitive than before.

I'd still like a 360-style vertical listing rather than the icons as an option, though.
 
I love it!

Only complaint is it was having issues downloading the icons & graphics, but i'm sure that will be worked out...

I'm thinking it may just be kinks in the data delivery at the moment due to the servers being stressed, or something. At least, I hope.

Ahh, ok. I wasn't expecting it until Thursday. Smart move on Sony's part to release this a couple of days in advance before having GT5😛rologue, the Metal Gear Online beta, and 2-3 weeks worth of backed up content ready to download on Thursday. I imagined Thursday as being the day that Sony's network went down, but this should alleviate some of the problems. 🙂
 
Just installed the update, and the new store looks good enough. Most of the icons were loading for me, but some just took a while if you sat and waited on them. I'm sure they'll get shit ironed out. By and large, the new PS Store looks better than the XBOX Marketplace, and I like that you can see as many as 20 individual items on the screen at once instead of the 360 Marketplace's huge ass list of crap, but overall, they're the same too me. Both seem equally navigable, kudos to Sony for listening to the mob and updating their store interface.

OK, what am I missing here? I just went to Downloadable Games -> A-Z -> M-R and I see PixelJunk Monsters. Now I know there's a demo for that game, but I don't see it listed with the full version. That's what I want. I don't know which PSN games have demos and which don't (I like how ALL XBLA games have demos). To see the full selection of PSN games, I'd have to go to the downloadable games section AND the demos section. And if I see one in the downloadable games section, I can't just go straight to the demo if it exists. That's what I don't like about the PSN store... am I missing something in the new store?

I do like the new interface a lot.

I went to the View by Title (or whatever it's called) section. It's one of the main menu options. I then went to Warhawk and saw the game, theme, wallapers, expansion, etc... It was all there. But that's the only game I checked in that section.

Same, seemed a bit slow, might be because everyone and his brother was using it yesterday.
 
I should try this, but my stack of unplayed games is so high I don't really need more.

That didn't stop me from preordering Persona 3 FES for next week though. $30 instead of $50 with 30 more hours of content is down to my price.

yeah, Sony acknowledged the slow icon loading and stated it was due to the network congestion and should resolve itself in the next few days. There are a LOT of things hitting the network right now too, notably the MGO beta. Speeds all around are probably not going to be the greatest.
