New Plasma TV

I'm looking to spend around $800-$1000 on a new flatscreen TV. Main specs I'm looking at are 42-inch, 1080p and plasma. I've heard good stuff on a Panasonic Viera but it seems there are a few different kinds. Anybody have any thoughts or personal experience?

Thanks

I'm looking for about the same thing, and I've been leaning towards one of the Panasonic Vieras, probably the G10. That seems to be the best plasma out there at the moment.

I have an older Viera have been satisfied. A bit of greenish yellows but it is typically not noticed. Watch out for plasma glare! If you have a bright room the screen will reflect despite anti-glare coatings. LCDs diffuse the light more (matte vs. glass screen) so they are easier to watch in glarey rooms. I've got one LCD and one plasma and both have great pictures....probably will go LCD next because I have bright rooms.
