Semi Yay. I tried some of the "pulled pork," it wasn't bad. I don't think it's a solution though. Still takes a long time to grow, can be affected by climate change, diseases and pests. Very doubtful it can scale to the numbers needed and then there are the transportation costs.

Bacteria actually. And not just proteins, starchy things like bread and pancakes. Protein in the form of mammal muscle fiber involves cells doubling every 24 hours, with this process they use select bacteria that double every 20-30min. Basically programmed microbes that create customized molecules of almost whatever you want, or at least that's what they're aiming for. It looks to be something that can scale to needed size without a huge investment in land area and resources, so sizeable savings in carbon and energy. Def keeping my eye on it. We have to do something to get away from the current mode of protein production, that much is certain. Using 28% of our land for 1% of our protein (predominantly beef) is simply not sustainable.

first off: shredded or pulled pork are two different things. that person can go fuck the fuck right off for saying whatever nonsense.

second: nothing is fixed with "BBQ" sauce. whatever that fuckstain is thinking, they can fuck the fuck right off thinking they should toss any kind of "BBQ" sauce into whatever they are calling "pulled or shredded" pork. Seriously, though, what a bunch of savages. You chop it is what you do. Shred it? what the fuck is this? Who wrote this nonsense?

I'd try it, but made by someone else. My own attempts at Tofu were weird and unpleasant, so.
