New Pistol today!

My day to day carry is a Walther PPS 9mm. I HIGHLY recommend the PPS to anyone looking for a small, light, yet very usable and fun to shoot carry. In fact, I like the walther triggers so much I'm looking to sell my XD9 and buy a Walther P99 which has the same basic design and trigger as the PPS only in a full sized pistol.

The revolver is more of a home defense weapon / range toy. No need to worry about misfires, clearing, or the misfeeds. Makes it easier for the wife. Plus they are just my favorite thing to look at. They just scream power imho.

I've been going down a list buying all the stuff I've wanted to get. Next up for me is probably a 44 mag. I've always wanted one of those.
 
I've had a P99 in 9mm since 2002. It's a very nice, very accurate pistol.
I like it a lot.

I just bought a new gun, myself. Got a Ruger LCP in 380 as a backup carry and a main carry on speedo only days. 😉
 
What barrel length did you pick? That is a sweet looking piece. I have a XD 45 and a Beretta 92, both of which I really enjoy. Right now I'm looking to pick up a .22 I can use for target practice & plinking, and then at some point I'd like to pick up a revolver in .357.

 
I went with the 4" barrel. I had a choice of the 627 in 5", the 686 (6 shot) in 6" or the 686+ in 4". After holding all 3 and playing with the triggers I just liked the look of the 686+ and the trigger and hammer reach better. The 627 was really nice as well with a 8 shot capacity, but the trigger was hard as hell to pull in DA and almost too easy in SA.

If I learned one thing from NCIS it's always police your brass LOL. I won't be taking this out of the house except for range time.

Used to have the same gun,never a issue...well until my house burned to the ground and I found out the hard way my safe was not as good as I thought it was....:|

I have a P99M in 40 S&W, it is a great gun.

The days of the ninja ended with the invention of the hand gun, Smith and Wesson helped level the playing field between skilled martial arts warriors and the layperson😉

That said, nice weapon. I am probably going to pickup a handgun next time a gun show is in town, much less aggravation than dealing with the normal process of purchasing a weapon.

Trying to make up my mind... 9mm or a .45.
 
I have guns in both calibers.
I got the P99 in 9mm and a Para Ordnance C6.45 in .45.
I use the .45 as my main concealed carry gun.

I have a 10mm Glock which got crazy expensive to shoot nowadays and that's if I can find the ammo, so I ended up getting a Browning Buck Mark .22 this week for target practice.

Took it to the range today, and put 500 rounds through it and was fun as hell 🙂.

Once I get the money I'll be getting a Beretta U22. I'd like to get something in 9mm but considering I can't even afford the gun right now, ammo costs would eat me up.
 
My friend bought a 686 a few months ago. I can only shoot about a dozen .357 shots before my hand hurts from the metal backstrap. We usually put .38 special through it.

I wanted to shoot a lot but couldn't stomach the cost of even 9mm ammo, so I just bought a Ruger 22/45. Three weeks after buying it I still can't find any ammo in the area, it's ridiculous.
 
Yea, I'll probably shoot mostly 38 out of it at the range, but still from time to time put a few 357 though it so I can get used to it. I usually shoot my AR-15 the most at the range, then my carry (walther PPS 9mm). But my wife has a ruger mark III with a reddot sight on it that is fun as hell to put a few hundred rounds though.

Pistol is a generic term meaning any handgun that isnt a crossbow or slingshot.

Yes, in many parts of the world handgun can also mean single-handed crossbow.

A lot of folks would like you to believe pistol means automatic, but many times in the old west people referred to revolvers and single shot handguns as pistols.
