Do tell how it pans out.

Well they won't be on the front lines - you actually have to be trained for that. They will probably be in the camp helping with food and shelter provisions. There are 3 different camps as I understand. They are very excited to be taking part helping however they can (he is Choctow) and getting to take part in the prayer ceremonies and doing whatever they can.

Good for them. There are apparently a lot of Canadian First Nations folks down there as well.

Just a heads up, ND is a law & order kind of place, if they get the go ahead, and they probably will, it won't be pretty.

I had a lot of friends (even a couple of nuns) with felony convictions for protesting the nuke missle silos. I grew up near a couple, and they didn't fuck around, you got arrested and convicted quickly. My friends in college at the other end of the state would organize every year, and they all got arrested and convicted. My hometown is Bismarck.

The authorities are tired of the drama, they're pissed, and given the go ahead, it'll go quickly, and it's starting to get cold.

I helped define those oil fields and spent lots of time @ 4 Bears reservation, my mom worked for the tribe for years.
