The pipeline will transport up to 570,000 barrels of sweet crude oil per day from North Dakota’s oil-rich Bakken Formation, to a market hub near Patoka, Illinois.

So did this pipeline get approval because it originates in the Communist state of Illinois and goes to North Dakota without cutting through Native American's land?

This originates near where I live. Well not too near but close by.

I know nothing of this pipeline nor do I know much about them. I will say I'm ok with a pipeline for oil that's our oil, I'm not ok with a pipeline that's someone else's oil to be used by someone else

Dude, that's the very best kind of pipeline. We get money for someone else buying another someone else's oil. It gets old? We get more money to maintain it. It leaks? We get a LOT more money to clean it up.

Hillary's going to announce her own pipeline. Only it will be filled with entitlement.

We build new pipelines all the time. They get approved all the time. http://business.financialpost.com/n...2010-and-no-one-said-anything?__lsa=3f3f-0680 A certain specific pipeline was rejected. That doesn't mean others will be rejected. But far too many people (on both sides) read political reasons into one pipeline while ignoring all the others.

But this one is in Illinois. where, you know, communists live.

So obviously it is suspect. and like, corrupt. or something.

But glad you brought this up again because one thing I forgot to mention is the #1 reason wy should try to leave as much in the ground, C02 emissions remember global warming?

I wonder if any of the major news outlets will cover this debacle. Wouldn't bet on it, but it would be good for the red man to get some screen time, rather than it just being blacks 'n' whites all the time.

Is this the only thread P&N has on the pipeline debacle going on? It's sad this isn't more of a discussion- both here and in that evil main street media.
Or maybe this is just a topic we all agree upon? so no arguing ensues?

I had started a thread on this very same subject two weeks before this one started, Not sure why this one stayed up but anyway its the subject that matters. https://forums.anandtech.com/threads/government-quietly-approves-enormous-oil-pipeline.2484650/.

Plenty of "who cares - so what" arguing in that thread.

I don't understand how pipelines can go through reservation lands without their approval, as reservations are not technically American soil for most purposes.

Native Americans are sovereign when it's inconvenient for America to do something in the red man's favour. When America stands to gain, however, suddenly they're not so sovereign.

It's quaint; the US actually dictates the laws of the supposedly sovereign tribes.
