You can always spend more money and get better quality. The cheapest Onkyo HTIB I found was a refurb for $150+$40 shipping.

If you purchase the Pioneer thinking the quality is going to be the same as higher end models, then your foolish. The $400 Onkyo system I have in my living room blows this away hands down. But for my bedroom, this is a great little unit. It gives me plenty of boom for PC games and has a nice small footprint (no receiver to worry about finding desk space for).

well I live in and apartment so anything more would be overkill. Plus I needed optical input which I haven't found anything with optical input for less than $200.

Finally came in a couple of days ago. Really neat system for a hundred bucks. In fact for a 100 bucks it's a 10/10. I would pay even 200 for it.
The only gripe is the lack of headphone jacks. Playing CoD4 and Halo3 on this is pretty cool. I also played Bourne Ultimatum on HD, and it rocked.

Ordered on 12/10. All last week the status was "sent to warehouse" - even after the item was not available to order in the middle of the week and then reappeared at the end of the week (for $99 - I paid a little bit more) before being unavaliable again. Now my order status is "on order" - which means they don't even know when they will be getting more in stock. This is my first experience with Buy.com, and I am, let's say, less than impressed - epecially when I found out that their price match policy when you purchase from them does not include items that appear for less on their own web site

Yeah I ordered on the 9th and called a couple days ago to cancel because it was backordered. Ordered from Wal-Mart for $128.xx and it shipped same day.

yeah buy.com didn't cancel they shipped out anyway. Now I have two sets of these coming. I might just keep them both. Just depends on how they sound. If they ain't much I will return the ones back to wal-mart.

Similar situation here... a bit later on the 17th I sent BUY.COM a note asking them to address two "apparent" policy violations (one BUY.COM policy item and one Google Check-Out policy item) and asking for an ETA given that my order was now in "On Order" status (a status it had never been in before). An hour or so after sending the email, I went ahead and ordered one from WalMart.com (and paid the whopping $0.97 shipping charge to have it delivered to my house - I know, I could have had it shipped to the local store and saved the shipping, but I'm a big spender 😀 - and I wanted it before Christmas). A couple of hours after ordering from Walmart, I received an automated email from BUY.COM stating that my package had shipped. The next day I received an answer to my inquery that stated my item had shipped, but they did not answer my question about the policy violations. So, now I have two on the way and will probably do the same as you... open the one from BUY.COM and evaluate it - if I like it then I have one as a gift or to keep and use for my little santuary, er, I mean garage/home work area 🙂

I spent the 97 cents aswell 😀. I would have used 2-3 times that in gas going to the store to pick them up.

Ordered these. Just got a 42" panasonic plasma and play xbox 360. Figure the front speakers on my tv are basically the same as these, add a sub, and a remote for my 360 and i'm happy. Later on I'll use them on my computer since my sounddcard does dts/dd output in 5.1 (ht omega)
