So I just found out that the makers of the Pinebook are coming out with the Pinebook Pro, with higher specs at $200.

64GB of memory.
64GB or 128GB eMMC
PCIe x4 M.2 slot
14" IPS 1080p display
USB-C with video output.
6 Core ARM CPU.

This, like the Pinebook is a laptop intended for Free and Open Source Software Users. Supports both Linux and BSD, and as an alternative to buying Chromebooks and installing Linux on them.

I was thinking of buying a Chrome a while back to run Linux instead of using ChromeOS. At $200 I'm now considering getting the Pinebook Pro later this year. Of course I will the reviews first, but....

Did I started this thread in the wrong Forum? Perhaps this should be moved over to the Open Source one as this device is designed and intened for FOSS users.

@Mods please move this thread if it is in the wrong Forum.

Doesn't seem like the wrong forum to me. Interestingly-enough, I can't find the Pro on pine64.org at all. Just the standard Pinebook.

Also, A72 so meh. But what can you expect for $199? Maybe they'll move to something A76-based next year. Or whenever RockChip gets around to updating their products.

You will have to go to their Forums to get news about it. They will ship it to developers first.

I got a Pine64 board when they first came out, and I wasn't all that impressed with the Ubuntu support for it. I'm hoping that it's better now.

Well there are other Linux distros that work on that board, and think Manjaro Linux supports it as well.
