Got my results back from a shoot last month with Joseph Mannaa.
I'm not 100% happy the with results, but it was our first time working together and he's working on building his portfolio. Here are some samples... I'm not sure if I want to work with him again, and think my shoot with another photographer produced better results (will have those by next week).
For those with photography experience or just a keen eye, what do you think about the quality of the pics/lighting/etc.? Would you suggest working with him again? And which pics, if any, are the best/worst in terms of quality for a headshot?
For those who don't like my pic threads... nobody asked you to click in the first place, and I haven't posted any pics since Halloween. So... smile, don't have a cow, and enjoy the new year.

Schoolgirl
Fuzzy b&w headshot
Heavily photoshopped red shot (not sure what he did, but I don't really like the effect)
Mean
Just a bodyshot, I have a stupid expression on my face so I replaced it with something mroe aestetically pleasing
Headshot smile
Headshot smile in b&w
Hair back smile
Hairback smile b&w
Business suit smile
High school principal picture
Just for fun
Beach headshot/beanie
Beach profile, unfortunately the sun went away and we lost all light
Tired and kinda pissed there was no more light (too much time spent in studio)
Thanks in advance for your opinions. Constructive criticism appreciated.
EDIT, 1/5/2004:
Good grief.
I had to leave for a meetup with an ATOT friend shortly after posting the thread (and coincidentally, bumped into another ATOT-er who valet-ed my car ) and enjoyed the rest of my weekend. Didn't have a chance to check in until now... may sift through the posts when I have time, but overall sentiment is...
I agree, after reviewing the rest of the pics I'm pretty disappointed with the results. I was paid for my time, so the photographer could get some more experience and add to his portfolio. The pics are a bit off in terms of lighting, overall quality, creativity, etc... and they also suffer from a bit of stiffness on my end, which I need to work on (facial expressions, body positioning, etc.).
I do appreciate those who were kind enough to offer constructive criticism and tips... I'll definitely be taking those into consideration for next time. When I said "If you have issues w/my pics, don't click", I didn't mean "only come in if you're going to kiss my flat Asian ass". I meant, please avoid starting a flame war... which was pretty naive on my end, as the haters always feel the need to voice their opinion. No problem with that, you're entitled to it... just know that I do my best to help out and give what honest/helpful advice I can around here, and I believe I contribute positively to the forums. I haven't posted a pic thread in a long, long time... and there have been innumerable ones from other members (oldsmoboat's daughter, etc. etc.).
The compliments are kind and flattering, but I don't post for a superficial ego boost... if I wanted one of those, I'd go out to a club. I come here because there are talented, intelligent, kind individuals around... many of whom I consider friends, through PM's and in-person encounters. I do my best to help out, and I appreciate whatever help is given to me. I won't apologize for that.
To my knowledge, nobody who has met me in person at any of the meets I've attended/thrown has found me to be incredbly dislikable. When you give me a chance, I'm really not so bad.
I suggest all the people out there who harbor an unhealthy amount of ill-will towards a complete stranger to take a deep breath, go out, and live a little, as opposed to focusing their energies and attention towards making a stranger out in cyberworld's life unhappy. I see no point in "hating/going out of your way to hate" people, especially those you don't know... even for those who "hate" celebrities such as J. Lo, Justin Timberlake, Eminem, whoever... it's kinda pointless, don't you think? Take your energy and invest it in something positive and beautiful, instead of wasting precious minutes of your life typing out hateful messages.
I would rather experience a life filled primarily with happiness, clarity, and joy than one of anger, ugliness, and blind hate.
Wouldn't you?
Happy new year, all. Thanks for the replies. Mods, if you feel this has gotten out of hand, please lock... and if you'd like me to refrain from posting such threads in the future, please let me know and I'll respectfully comply.
