Hi guys.

I would like to buy a new phone for about 400 - 450 € (maybe even more) and I need your help to decide which one.

I want an Android smartphone.
I was thinking about Samsung Galaxy S5, because I like its features like fingerprint scanner. But on the other side it has been already been overcome by other phones.

So, what can you offer me that price range ?
I like sony xperia Z3, but that is too expensive for me. I don't want chinese phone (Xiaomi, oneplusone, etc...). I was also thinking about LG G3, it is a great phone, but it has very short battery life (very high power consumption of its quadHD display) and I'm not sure by it's build quality (because it's LG). And what about Android update ? How long will LG makes android updates for LG G3?

And what do you think about galaxy S5 ?

Please if you can give me yours opinions :) I would like a phone with a fingerprint scanner...I don't know why, i just like it :) :D

Thanks :)

I was in the same boat last week and I bought a M8 because I want a GPE ROM and a low light camera. I think a S5, a Note 3, and a G2 (better match of power to pixels than the G3) are all good options.

If you want a really good working fingerprint scanner then buy an iPhone.

LG G3 is great! But I would second Apple if you're looking for a good fingerprint scanner.

thanks guys :)

I wanted LG G3 but now I'm not sure about it. I read a review on anandtech (http://www.anandtech.com/show/8169/the-lg-g3-review)

Performance of the phone isn't so good due to big display. Its also overheating sometimes and dimming...
Basically, the screen is stupid, costs more, wastes battery, slows down performance, heats it up so it throttles more, and isn't actually noticeably different compared to 1920×1080 at viewing distance...

I'm not saying that it is a bad phone...i just...well I'm confused :\
If you are interested read the article about performance in that review.

So, I'm now thinking about some others phones.. What about GS 5 ?
Give me your opinions about LG G3...And LG G3 is also relatively cheap. If I compare it to GS5 it's cheaper. And I'm wondering why. It has better specs, and it's not on the market as long as GS5, so it should be more expensive. why is it so "cheap" ?

thanks guys :)

Brand. The Galaxy brand is second to iPhone, LG or anyone else doesn't come close.

Heck I recently sold a new S4 for what I bought my mint M8 for. This M8 is a much better phone, but Galaxy is something the average person on the street can recognize. They by far have the best resale value among Androids (which still sucks compared to the iPhones).

Honestly for dollar value on the secondary market it's hard to beat the G2. It's the G3 without the unneeded screen.

I'd take the LG G2 over the Nexus 5

LG G2 MSRP was higher than the n5, but both should be roughly the same price new or used...

I may be putting my GS5 up for sale here in a day or so. Since I got my Note 4 a few days ago and I still have my Note 3, I dont see any reason to keep my S5 anymore. I am just waiting for the usb cover to be replaced and up for sale it goes.

I think I will take LG Nexus 5, It's still a great phone, and I like it's pure android :)

But in my country, Slovak republic, what is only available is 16 GB version. It"s not much, so I would like to get 32 GB version.

I searched the web for 32 GB version. On the UK amazon, they are pretty expensive http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_sb_ss_c_0_10?url=search-alias%3Delectronics&field-keywords=lg%20nexus%205&sprefix=LG+nexus+5%2Caps%2C174

But I found some cheaper phones on the ebay, they are from Honk Kong, and they are a lot cheaper than from other countries. Why ?

are they "bad" in some way ?

First I wanted 16 GB version, I thought it will be enough for me, but than I realized It may not be enough. I never used much space, but apps in the future will need more space.
And even now, some games uses a lot of space. 16 GB version has just 12.5 of free memory. I will maybe have 3 GB of music. That will left me about 9 GB for apps. Do you think it will be enough for normal use ? I do not take lot of photo and videos and if I take them, I will store them on my PC or in cloud. I'm just afraid for space for my apps, like games and so... I have never played much games, but still. I would like to use that phone for about 2 years...

Just two days ago I ditched my RAZR M for a mint LG G2.

I recommend this phone. $230 on Swappa. And yes, I read Anand's review of the G3, that's what persuaded me to go with the G2.

I might be interested, but we'll see how I feel when you get it ready for sale

I really like my S4 active, but it's starting to do some very odd things since the last update and I don't know if I can live until the GS6. It's useable but the battery drain is a big issue. If it was a regular S4 I'd find a rom to take care of my issues, but the S4 Active has almost no community support. None of the phones currently out really has everything I want so I'm torn.

The Note 4 looks good but I can't be certain I'd get used to the size. The Xperia Z3 looks good because of the battery life, but I've gotten attached to the IR blaster on the S4 and use it a lot. The new Droid Turbo would also be a good choice for battery life, but I'm not on Verizon. The S5 has everything I'm used to, I just wish the battery life was better.
