My family's phone plan allows for a new phone every 2 years for eligible members, and I'm one of them. That is, my dad gets $50 or so off a new phone for himself and gets 2 or 3 new phones for free as long as they cost less than his. So this means I get a new phone. I was thinking about getting something with a QWERTY keyboard and maybe a touch screen (although the touch phones are generally too expensive). I would definitely like a decent camera, though. I was thinking about getting the enV2. Any suggestions?

Blackberry.

Either wait for the Storm/Thunder (touchscreen, and should be out on the 1st is semi-expected ETA), or get the Curve IMHO.

A blackberry is a bit too big and clunky for what I'll be needing. I don't need a full business-style phone - just something for a college student.

Storm has the same dimensions as the iPhone 3G, pretty much. I have no idea why people think all BB's are the size of the 8700 still, but yeah.

Or just get an 8130. It's a small candybar form factor.

Wasn't there an announcement or something about Verizon opening up the selection of phones to pretty much anything CDMA?

I'm due for an upgrade too and I like BB's but I don't really need one and having to pay an extra $29.99/month for a data plan i dont want and not get wifi would suck.
