New Phone: Nexus S or Incredible S?

AT&T user here. Atrix is out of the question with Moto being Moto. Signed and encrypted bootloader is NOT getting unlocked anytime soon, and even with what Moto says, I somehow doubt that applies to the Atrix on AT&T...

Sensation is really the phone I want, but it's not gonna hit for a long time given that there are no rumors at all about Canada. I suspect minimum 3 months til an 850/1900 model will appear. Possibly longer.

I'm pretty tired of my Droid being a piece of shit and not handling anything. Everytime I need it to do something, it runs out of memory or lags like hell. Today I sat in my car for 5 minutes trying to map a food truck because Maps was just taking so long to load.

Maybe a faster device will get me to shut up about android's slowness :D I really like the 4" factor, though the Sensation is decent with the 16:9 aspect ratio. I just don't how long I can wait for the 850/1900 Sensation to pop up. The Nexus S is cheaper, so perhaps I should just settle iwth that for now and enjoy modding. I feel like I've missed out on modding entirely because my Milestone has a locked bootloader and you can't do CRAP with it...

I guess I'm confused why you're not looking at the iPhone given how much you complain about everything Android.

Not sure you managing that. It should handle most usual tasks just fine. Maps too. The lag time sounds more like you just had poor signal strength there.

I think it's a memory issue. I could possibly downgrade to CM6 instead of running CM7 but it brings SO MANY features!

I'm talking lag like loading the app and it's not letting me type anything into the search bar for a long time. Then when I do, I feel the program lagging it up BEFORE it actually searches.

If I reboot daily, the phone is very manageable. But I think it's time to move up to a 512mb or higher device so I stop bitching :D

Keep in mind, you've installed an OS that the phone wasn't intended to support. :p Fortunately, most Android phones now have at least 512MB RAM, even the low end devices like the Optimus One's. :p

You're right. Gingerbread pushes the phone's limit. It's slightly worse than CM6, but to be honest CM6 wasn't like zip zip zoom zoom either. The 256mb just totally holds the phone back. I'm thinking 256mb is just that borderline. Once you jump to 384 or 512, it's NIGHT and day.

Instead of 40mb free, I see it easily possible to have 100mb+ free which will make Android hopefully fly.

most new HTC phones, even midrange ones like the desire S, are coming with 786mb of ram

xperia arc and galaxy sII shoudl both be available with att bands

protip: you can use http://pdadb.net/index.php?m=pdamaster to search for phones with min 512 ram, and the 850/1900/2100 bands to narrow down your options.
