New Phone: Moto X (2014) or Xperia Z3?

LOL, I know this. I simply wondered if there was a measured "typical power savings".

AMOLED is better during the night or in dark places (when you want the screen to be dimmer). But it is horrible during the day when you want a bright screen. So, there is a tradeoff. Unfortunately for OLED phones, humans spend most of their productive time when the sun is out...

Wait, the Z3 has a 32GB model? I thought it was 16GB only.

Tmobile version is 32gb. The rest of the world gets screwed with 16gb version. Flagship phones should really start at 32gb even with the sd slot. I see 16gb as another mistake by Sony.

The sun may be out but I seldom use my phone in direct sunlight...having been around AMOLED screens enough, they're plenty bright for my typical usage.

I'm not a construction worker or a ditch digger. I tend to spend most of my time indoors as a productive human. When I get out to go outside, it is usually to interact with the outdoors and not my phone.

Unfortunately they're using S4 class screens and not the newest tech.

The 1440p Note 4 and S5 LTE-A screens are very impressive in power draw, brightness and accuracy. Even Anandtech was impressed in their LTE-A review.

Even older tech like the S5 has done well in tests

Why should I get the new moto x versus the 2013 version? Srs

It is essentially the same phone except more powerful, larger screen, about the same battery life, and a better camera. Also, it is built a lot better than the previous one.

Still, if you have the 2013 version, there really isn't enough to push one to buy it IMO.
