Meet Faery the ferret:D

3 months old, after months of negotiating, I caved & let my 10 year old have a ferret, rather than mice (we feed mice to the 13 year old's snake:(, thought it might not be a good thing for her to bond to food)

Very cute. :)

Ferrets are pretty high maintenance. You sure your little one is up to the job?

It plays like mad, then collapses.

They definitely have an odor, it just got a bath, and smells like a French whore now:D

Descenting helps with smell. So does regular bedding changes. They also make powders that make them smell pretty. :)

1. Why is a constrictor around the neck of a bald cat?
2. Your constrictor needs more humidiity in it's cage; that will get rid of the bad, flaky sheds (see the pieces of skin?)
3. You are automatically elevated to the rank of Elite Cool Buddy of Mine b/c you are a herper.

I have three "snakes" <--hate that term. :| I have three constrictors.
I have a Royal Python <--proper name. petstore name is "ball python"
I have a Brazilian Rainbow Boa.
I have Red Tail Boa (Boa Constrictor Imperator, not a Boa Constrictor Constrictor.

The biggest one is the Redtail, Andy. 8 feet long, about 25 pounds. She could eat your cat w/o even breaking a sweat.. :D

What, no props for my corn snake? I got the scientific name and all that. About 2 years old, 4 feet long. Shedding now, so it's got that milky white skin.

The python was in the process of shedding it's skin, had a few vestiges of last skin coming off, looks perfect now, and it's in a new cage, think the humidity is about right.

Do all of your pets eat live food? I've heard it can be dangerous for pythons to eat the live stuff, but that's what this guy is accustomed to. We have a frozen mouse in the freezer, plan on thawing it & attempting to feed it to the snake next week.

Sorry, didn't see your post! There are too few of us herpers here. Your Corn is cool. I had a baby albino corn...but it didn't want to eat...and it just...died. :( But the other three have prospered. The redtail is just frekin' huge.! The BRB is growing very quickly and will eat anything.
