It sucks. If it's less than 730 pixels or so wide, your pictures disappear. If it's wider than 880 pixels or so, the bar on the left repeats behind the text. I hate when people do that.

no it doesnt, if its less than some pixels wide then the pictures disapear but if its wider it stays fixed. Nothing wrong with it

People always have different resolutions though...which one do you pick?

Oh yeah, looks fantastic when the black bars from the left repeat cause the background is only 800 pixels wide, and thne the text stretches across over them.

I'll admit, it's not as bad as some sites I've seen where the bar on the left is yellow with black text over it, and then the body of the page is black with yellow text, and the yellow text stretches over the tiled yellow bar, and you have to highlight it to read it.


I design for 800x600 and larger. Meaning it'll look correct at 800X600 or anything bigger.
 
notfred, the black bars on the left and right aren't the same, dude. It's meant to look that way. He probably should have put the text into a giant cell or something so they don't carry over off the intended page, losing the effect, but still... the black bars are fine.

right, sorry 🙂 I had my monitor so dark that I didnt see the gray's in the background, I agree this is something that should be fixed.

Damn, it's time you got a new monitor. I turned the brightness all the way down on mine and they were still plainly visible.
 
I went to read what other people wrote in the guestbook, and it's a pain to read! The color combination sucks nuts. Change the text color if you're going to have a white background.

Wow, overall great community. I appreciate the feedback.

Thx for all the input. I'll consider everything everyone said and fix it. It's far from complete. The only thing it really has right now is a blog. I'm thinking about just using greymatter for the blogging, since that'll be so much easier.

And for the stupid retards who remain anonymous to leave me hate comments in my guestbook. You're stupid and you're lame. If you want to talk crap, at least show your identities, dumbasses. At least Nik's cool. He talked crap, but he didn't try to hide himself. And he gave lots of feedback on my page.
 
Oh, I just realized what everyone was complaining about. Nik is right, the right bar is completely different than the left bar, if you look at it carefully, and I intended for the text to overlap it. I dunno, i'm just experimenting with style. True, I can code the right table cell width to end before the bar so it doesn't overlap it, but I dunno, I think it might look too cluttered. Anyway, I'll give it consideration, and I'll be doing a lot of site redesigning in the oncoming days.
