My 930 is running a 250 fsb @ 3.75 on the stock cooling, never hits higher then 46-47 C after dual priming for 5 hours. Nice to see intel ramping up to the clock speeds that these chips are capable of.

its not like anyone is gonna buy a FX-60 at its insane price either, these 1000$+ chips are mostly just for Intel and AMD to fight each other in the benchmarking arena. With a 3.73G Presler vs AMDs 2.8G skt AM2 processor Intel will still be close enough to not get completely dominated in benchies. Alot of people put too much emphasis on the benchmarks of the highest end chips, even when they would never consider buying one.

EDIT: these chips are mostly just there to tide us over till Conroe is released, Presler still is hot as hell, at 1000$ Intel should put in a serious stock cooler.

Hmm I wonder how Conroe EE @ either 3.0GHZ/3.33GHZ with 1333FSB will compare to Presler EE @ 3.73/1066FSB. It will also be interesting to see how 2.66GHZ/1066FSB Conroe E6700 fares against the Presler 960 3.6GHZ/800FSB.

I also wonder what will be hotter, Pentium EE 840 or Pentium EE 965. With this chip though the 90nm based Pentium EE 3.73GHZ can finally be put to rest. Just how like the Athlon FX 55 was retired after the release of Athlon FX 60.

a conroe at 3 or 3.3 Ghz would destroy the 3.73 Presler in pretty much everything, a 2.6 conroe verse a 3.6 Presler should also result in an easy win for the Conroe. There is NO WAY Intel will release a PResler that is better then their Conroe parts, it looks very bad when you shiny new architecture gets beaten by the highly maligned old architecture (although netburst wil probably still win some streaming benchies where it can keep its pipe full, but those arent very real worldish).

it should be said that the 3.3G Conroe would kick the crap outa anything it is put up agaisnt in the majority of benchies. thats like sub 20 second SuperPi stock.
