The sage himself, Mr. Mfenn, helped me piece together a PC for my father in law recently. I needed a few odds and ends and went to Micro Center to get them.

Needless to say I've never been to MC before (it is only 10min away), and I was like a kid in a ToysRUs.

While I was there I got myself into a bit of trouble and picked up a Samsung 840 - 120gig and 3770K (they had that $229 deal going. I am going to keep it so no trying to convince me otherwise :)). As well as a Corsair case.

My current build (see sig plz) will be kept, but I will be taking out a few storage drives and my 560ti for the time being.

With all that said there a few components I need some input on:

Disclaimer - I will OC eventually, just like I did my q6600. Also I like the idea of supporting Brick and Mortar so I would like to buy everything from my nearby MC. Plus they only have 3.5% sales tax there, which is better than the Egg.

Mobo - I can't decide between the http://www.microcenter.com/product/387554/Z77_Extreme4_LGA_1155_Z77_ATX_Intel_Motherboard or http://www.microcenter.com/search/s...4294922666&NTX=&NTT=&NTK=all&sortby=pricehigh

If you think there is something better let me know.

CPU Cooler - I am not looking to set OC records just something for a mild overclock.

Should do the job no?

Memory - this is a slight issue at MC, they only have a limited selection. I'd buy this from anywhere I suppose. Let me know.

PSU - Corsair would be my preferred choice. Their service has always been good to me and I'd like to remain loyal.

Thanks for reading :)

And Happy New Year to all of you.

Good cooler choice. You can definitely go with the cheaper Extreme4 mobo; pretty much all midrange motherboards are good for overclocking. The difference is in the feature set. That said, the Asrock Extreme4 offers an excellent feature/price ratio.
