so i decided to run the pc with the powmax 450w psu, just to get it set up and everything so when i get my new psu i can jus plug it in and fly. i had it hook up for about 3 hrs and after i did a reboot to add a new drive, when it will start up and i try to click on something ill get a NV****.sys error blue screen. cant remember exactly what the error said because itll goto the blue screen then reboot a second later fast. i know it was close to nvravm or something with a letter between nvram. im hopping the fault is of the power supply and not something else. :-\ but while it was hooked up i was looking in the bios at the volts.. the v12 were jumping from 11.57 - 11.71, thats not that bad is it?

My buddy has always used crappy PSU's for his computers like powmax and has had them burn out anywhere between 1 month to the one he has now which has been around 1 yr or so. They are a mixed bag to be sure. He spends 10$ on 4 at a time and swaps out the crappy one for a new one in his stash. Funny if u ask me.

after i got the msg i disconnected both optical drives, but still got the msg. so i hope it isnt the RAM. im still trying to figure out what the error was. :-?

I am not sure but I dont think it is your powersupply. When I ran out of power on mine, my comp just shut down. If your powersupply died, then you would not be running and some components would be dead.

i know its not dead, just think its not good enough to push hdd and 2dvd burner. but i took both of them off and still got the error

I'd still be careful running your machine with that Powmax PSU..I had one, it was causing all kinds of lock ups, freezing, and rebooting...then it went pow and took out my $180 motherboard..
