Alright just put together my new pc (my 3rd build) but it won't post. Was looking for input on which part might be bad.

System specs
Intel e4300
Gigabyte DS3 rev 2.0
Corsair HX520 PSU
Seagate 320 GB HD
Buffalo Firestix 2GB DDR2 800
Samsung SATA DVD drive
XFX 7900GS vid card

I got evrything hooked up, powered it up but no post. Case fans and drives power up. Also Vid card powers up and fan comes on.
I did note that the CPU fan did not start up. Tried aftermarket (artic frezzer pro 7) and stock.
I then reseated evrything and tried again but still no luck.

Bad Mobo or CPU possibly?
I know that the gigabytes are somethimes picky with ram but I have heard of a couple people that used the same ram and had no problems. Plus i figured if it was the ram the computer would post with the memeory error code.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

CPU fan will have to ran if the mobo is working properly. Check the mobo manual for jumpers settings. But every working mobo will always have a working cpu fan. It's a must!

Try running the board outside the case to see if something is shorted out while in the case.

I did a stupid thing when I was installing a mboard a few weeks ago. I remembered to put the wide mboard power connector in, but I forgot to put the smaller CPU power connector on. It powered up....but there was no CPU.

This is the equivalent of the "is it plugged in?" question that support always asks.

Haha, but we ask it because a lot of the time it's something people take for granted ;). Happens to the best of us at least once :p.

Thanks for the suggestions,
I tried the Slot 3 dimm tip, Still a no go.
I Think I'm gonna RMA the board to the Egg and try again.

try reseating the cpu. what bios version do you have? you'll need at least F8 for the E4300.
