NEW PC REBOOTS WHILE LOADING OS.

Hi everyone,

I have recently configured a new pc with this configuration.

SOYO-P4RC350 motherboard
P4 3.2GHz HT Prescott core
2GB PC3200 RAM
80 GB Hitachi hdd

the system booted fine. when i tried to load Windows 2000 prof. on to this it loads all the files (blue screen and copies all the drivers) and the system reboots suddenly.

I tried to load other operating systems, linux slackware 10.0, the same thing happens. it allows me to configure the locale settings, and partition the harddrive. when it starts loading the files it reboots.

i have tried by replacing the harddisk with an old harddisk i have, but the system is behaving the same way.

i checked to CPU temperature its under control (39-42 degree celcius) i guess

i checked all the jumper settings to my knowledge. cleared the cmos.

but still the problem persists. Please help me in troubleshooting the problem.

Thanks

2GBs of memory, try pulling out a few sticks, thinking maybe faulty memory in one of those sticks?
