Does the OS need to come out of the $200? That is a budget killer right there.

Linux and GIMP (instead of Photoshop) could save some money.

The OS is not an issue actually. I have a copy of windows XP Pro w/SP3 and yes I am in fact planning on dualbooting a Linux distro like maybe Ubuntu or "DSL" Linux on it.... I will get windows 8 later on down the line. And I don't really need DX11 or even CUDA right now.

This is why I worry about off brand PSUs. Who knows how they're cutting costs?

I believe the Evergreen unit is UL underwritten, unlike that one. It may be a 'gutless wonder "ie it doesn't perform up to spec at its full 460W rating. But with a UL rating it isn't a fire hazard.

If OP was looking for a 7850, maybe, yes. But for a 7750 at 75W,a gutless wonder can still hit the marks.

Did you actually check that the UL number verifies? It not at all uncommon for super cheap PSUs to forge certifications.

I did not. I've actually heard of the Evergreen brand, so I assumed that the company wasn't a no-name Chinese Ebay company. I could be wrong.
