My budget is around that area. I know I am missing CASE, PSU, and HEATSINK/FAN. I'm not exactly sure what I should get when it comes to those. I will probably be building TWO of these, so I'd really appreciate the feed back since a lot of money will be put into these. Please let me know what you think.

My current computer is a 2.4 GHz Pentium 4 (No HT), 512 MB RAM (no dual-channel), and 64MB GForce4MX 420. So an upgraded is needed.

2 x 1GB DDR2 667 $122

520W PSU $110

Antec P180 $75

For the CPU, I'd strongly consider something cheaper, like a Core 2 Duo E4300 for $169.

I second the P180 for the case: it is quiet, nice looking and well-priced now.
Not sure about everything else, but people usually like to hear what you'll use the computer for before they give hardware suggestions-- its all about getting what you need.

Might as well go for a 640MB GTS, especially if you're spending that much on a motherboard and RAM. Doesn't seem right to gimp the most important part of the machine.

I don't agree with that one man. It has less memory but to call it "gimp"? come on....

Case: Lian Li PC-A05B -- Typical Lian Li high quality and good looks along with soft mounts for the fans as well as hard drives.

PSU: Seasonic 430 watt S12 -- Seasonic is one the best. Reliable, stable, efficient, nearly silent, ect ect.

HS/F: Zalman 9500AT -- One of the best options for noise to performance ratio.

There is no reason why he can't buy cheaper RAM and spend that money on a better card. I'm assuming he's not buying all that just to play on 1280x1024.

I go with Ichigo and say you get the 8800GTS 640MB. Better card and it will go longer.
