I'm building a new gaming PC around a Z690 chipset and 12600K processor.
I could reuse an old RAM kit, Kingston Fury DDR4 3000 CL15 (2x16GB).

1) Would this be the bottleneck of the system?
2) if so, would you upgrade the ram to a DDR4 3600 CL16 considering the extra 110$ or...
3) Would you upgrade to a DDR5 6000 CL30 considerin the extra 180$ for the RAM and another 50$ to get the same MoBo but in the DDR5 version?

Option 1 would be very cost effective, option 2 balanced but I stay with a DDR4 board for the next 4 years or so, option 3 less cost effective but leaving the possibility to upgrade to take advantage of the upcoming games designed around 13th gen CPU and DDR5.

Other info:
CPU: Intel 12600K (just purchased)
MoBo: Asus TUF Gaming Z790-Plus WiFi D4 (to be purchased)
GPU: Asus TUF Gaming RTX 3070 Ti OC (existing)
Monitor: AOC CU34G2X (34 inches, 3440 x 1440, existing)
Drives: 3 x Samsung 970 EVO Plus NVMe M.2 SS (existing)
Power Supply: Corsair SF750 Platinum (existing)

Thanks for the guidance!

Depends on YOUR budget...and what the PC will be used for.

I built a new PC recently and re-used the DDR4-3600 RAM i had been using in my Z390 rig. If I had to buy RAM for the build, I'd have paid a bit more for both board and RAM, and gone with DDR5.

I have the budget to upgrade to DDR5, but I want to spend wisely.
PC used for first-person shooters and flight siimulators.
Maybe I will try some VR down the road.
