Talk about German efficiency! The two photos below were taken at a new parking garage in Munich. The actual space that the facility occupies is approximately only 20% of a comparable facility with the traditional design that is used primarily in the US. Not only is the German structure less expensive to build, but vehicles are also "retrieved" in less time and without the potential of being damaged by an attendant.

edit: holy cow people. calm down. even if it isnt a parking garage, it is still really cool and most people have not seen something like this. i hope all of your e-penis++ posts made you feel better.

I saw something a while back on Discovery channel (I think) and they apparently have had a few things like this in Tokyo for a few years now.

I saw similar setups when I was in Japan. They weren't nearly as clean, but they were automated parking garages.

I dont know what it looked like in the insde..but when i was in japan you deff drove into a parking garage int a cubby thing. and then it would just "go away"

The "Glass Factory" in Dresden has a similar looking (tube) storage structure for VW Phaetons that have finished production. PIC.

And I believe SMART started this trend at their dealerships. This is how they stack them.
