i can't believe palm only put 2 buttons on this. thus games or other apps that map actions to the normal 4 buttons (calendar, phone, todo, memo) may not
work as well.
As long as you plan on using it strictly as organizer, you'll be fine with 2MB. As for no backlight, how often was it used anyway. Anyone will tell you that backlight on Palms sucked big time, unless you used Sony.

If you happen to need to look up any information at anytime when it's dark (like at night), you will need the backlight. The backlight on non-color Palms was just green, but at least it worked.
If you are looking at the Zire, you might want to pay a little more for the m125. 8 MB instead of the 2 with the Zire, plus a SD expansion slot and the universal connector w/ cradle.
What is the purpose of the lower cost PDAs. Does it have a calender. All I really need is something to keep my appoitments. Is a PDA the best solution?
Isnt this basically the same as the palm m100 with fewer buttons??? You can pick up the m100 cheaper than this if you look around a bit and have the extra button functionality.
It is like the m100, but the m100 is no longer manufactured and the m100 never had an MSRP of $99 (I think it was $129 at its cheapest). Plus there are rumors that this one will drop to an even lower price after the holidays.
good find...but i wouldn't take it if palm paid me to. well maybe like $100. but this is basically the most retarded model of the palm family ever created. make sure you know your needs and make sure the zire meets it. i've played with one before--compared to my clie 760c, there's no comparison. it's like using a tamogachi.
