predict lots and LOTS of mold damage.

if you got mold, might as well tear down and rebuild. you wont be able to sell the house cause no insurance is going to give the buyer homeowners insurance. the abusive claims from mold is astranomical.

With all the moisture and upcoming heat, you're absolutely right about the mold. It's pretty much going to be everywhere, but I expect it will be extremely bad in houses with conventional foundations (ie, has a crawlspace with wooden floor framing).

Hello, is there anyone there?

Yea because we help victims of Asian Typhoons ALL OF THE TIME. Right Texan?
Not just that. We help everybody everywhere all of the time. We are constantly bailing someone's ass out. Something like this happens to the US and what do we get?

Perhaps you missed that he was being sarcastic. The point is we don't need help, so their not going to waste their money on us when it can be put to better use somewhere else.

Exactly. It's like us donating money to Bill Gates if his house was flooded/burn down! Not going to happen.

I lived there 18 months around 93 and the locals used to joke about 3 people sneezing simultaneously causing a flood, but this is no laughing matter.

How much would it cost to build a city the size of NO from scratch in say, a month?

500 billion? 750? 1 trillion? More?

Call Ty Pennington!

No amount of money could do it. It would take years for the planning and development, even before much of the infrastructure could begin being constructed.

Wal-Mark already donated $1 Million towards relief efforts and so is Lowes, that's pretty impressive IMO.

Meanwhile, Lowes predicts a shortage of plywood and wallboard. The million sheets they have in stock across the country go up in price by $2.

edit: I'd like to take that back. It really is noble of them to donate to the relief efforts.
