New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival 2005

Man, I can't decide which week I want to head back to NO for Jazzfest. This year's lineup is incredible. I wish I could take a week and a half off of work and go every day.

Here's some of the headliners folks from out of town will recognize, there are literally hundreds of other groups playing as well:

Steve Winwood
Black Crowes
Wilco
Ozomatli
The Meters (original -- reunion!!)
James Taylor
The Roots
Fishbone
Dr John
Nelly (WTF???)
Brian Wilson
G Love & Special Sauce
Jack Johnson
BB King
Papa Grows Funk
Better than Ezra
Widespread Panic
Dave Matthews Band
Elvis Costello
Galactic
Astral Project
The Neville Brothers
Trey Anastasio
Isaac Hayes
Los Lonely Boys
The Radiators
Michael Franti & Spearhead (YES!!!)
Karl Denson's Tiny Universe

JazzFest official site with more info, full schedules, etc

CAN'T WAIT!!! 😀

i live in baton rouge and i might catch it...only a mile away...missed voodoo fest of 04....this should make up for it 🙂

I went there a couple years ago with some friends and it was one of the best times I have ever had in my entire life...just plain awesome. I hope to go back soon.

the crowes? i thought they broke up?

They are back and playing a few dates. Really, they have a few NY dates, Jazz Fest, and Bonnaroo on their schedule so far. I'm hoping for a full fledged tour later this year. Still not sure who all will be in the band. If Marc Ford is onboard, I will definately catch at least one show somewhere.

As for Jazz Fest...the actual fest is darn cool. But, I'd be more excited about some of the after/late night shows. They get out of hand (cruise shows, Tip's shows, etc.)

I'm not too much into the night shows. Too expensive, too crowded, too many smelly hippies. I like the fest itself, reasonable ticket price, excellent food, lots of space (for the most part), other attractions. The only problems are the heat and mud.
