New optical drive crashes computer

I just bought this Rosewill optical drive. it can read some cd's and dvd's but when i put in some games like Farcry or The Sims 2 it goes into autorun like usual then my computer locks up. Whats going on?

Could be a # of things...
Make sure the cables and jumper are connected correctly and that DMA is enabled
 
Where do I enable DMA? If I had the jumpers wrong then it would nto work at all? I really appreciete your help.

On XP...Device Manager /IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers ... Primary/Secondary IDE Channel ... Advanced Settings... Transfer mode then Select DMA if available!!! Mine does it in the BIOS automatically...
 
I have a 350W Antec and it's only powering standard stuff like hard drive and 2800+ not overclocked. The drive can read DVD discs perfectly fine. It can even install some games fine. Some work and some dont. The discs are brand new and worked in other drives.

How could it be this if it only reads SOME cd's?
