my thoughts too.these 21.85 for xp visual quality is good but performance was not like 21.81
 
When changing drivers in WinXP, should I change to a generic driver and then install, or just run the install for the new drivers?

i just do device-manager=>update driver and didnt have any problems, and in case something goes wrong, you can always do device-manager=>roll back driver
 
These drivers suck. I hoped they would solve the "infinite loop" error of 21.81's but NOOO, windows XP just froze again. Next time I'm getting ATI. Here's the windows log file:
