I do indeed have ClockworkMod. Funnily enough, it was easier to establish its presence via RockPlayer (think VLC) than via Root Explorer.

So BusyBox is some Linux tools, ADB is a development thing for the PC to control it (I haven't figured out how this is necessary), Clockwork Mod is like a boot menu and "Windows screwed up, how would you like to start?".
