Dear Dell,

Your XPS customer support was ...well, amazing.

Including routing time from the initial call placed, it took just under 18 minutes. Your voice actor sounds a little overenthusiastic, but whatever, it's a recording of a real person, and she spoke clearly and loudly - better than a computer. Ms. Indian (dot) [yes, the accent was obvious to me] spoke English sans crippling accent, and loudly enough to be understood. No arguments or dithering over first level "reboot your computer", et cetera. I said the video card was dead, I described the issue, could hear it being typed in, was given one test to run, and then put on hold for a few minutes. Parts are being shipped to a technician nearby, who will call and set an appointment to come to my house and fix the laptop for me. (I found my jaw lying on the bench.) They'll call back later to confirm everything was done right.

Only complaint: leave the hold music on, don't interrupt it with a sales lady, it makes everyone think the hold is over.

So the refund check will be mailed to my house, the Dell laptop has been taken care of, I've ordered the parts to finish my main computer.

I wish I could justify a Das Keyboard. And that it had macros.
