Right now, the shed is probably above 100 degrees.

Come winter, it will be whatever the outdoor temperature is, which means, 20 degrees most days.

The defined perpetual space is 9' by 6', 54 square feet. The temporary expansion zone adds no more than another 8' by 3', for a total of 78 square feet, with a minimum ceiling height of 84" (before any modifications to the floor), and a maximum ceiling height of about 91", set within 15" bays.

The shed is 10' x 14', I don't know how much area I could claim, but at a minimum, 80 square feet just to start, the width by much of the length. Possibly more than that. The minimum height is around 84", but it is open to the ceiling height, which puts the peak around 12'.

And nobody really goes out to the shed, whereas the basement is the utility and laundry room, with the pass-through for the backyard.

Basement would be cheaper, the conversion would be half the cost, and the activity limitation removes any use of certain items.

The phone has now been unplugged for 19h 52m. The display has consumed 62% of the power, with 2h 39m of runtime. After that, 12% to cell standby, 10% to phone idle, 6% for wifi, and I'll drop the rest. 47% remains. If I am VERY nice to it, I might be able to hit 40 hours.

Basement would involve about half the cost for room conversion. So about 220 instead of 440. As for equipment, even going with high quality stuff, bumper plates would be a waste, and those sell for $1.50/pound. New conventional plates are about $1/pound, used can be found, with a little patience and digging, for about $.50/pound. Bumpers are obviously superior, but only if you really have the height for them, and to use them for more than just basic moves.
