Hell, if nothing else, do you remember how expensive full time school was? I live from home, and go to a low-level shitty state school... still to the tune of 11k/yr.

The price of higher education is insane.

That's why I haven't gone back. I did have the chance to get a free MBA and I probably should've done that, but I don't think it would've helped. I personally know 4 people who have gotten an MBA in the last 6 or 7 years and it hasn't helped any of them.

Even ignoring the financial aspects, I just don't think I have the ability now. It really does become harder to learn things when you get older. I look back now and am amazed at how crazy smart I was.

My calculus teacher replied!

Call my cell Fri 10AM ###-###-####.

I have to guess that the math department did come through for me, he probably really is on vacation, and they must have been able to contact him. Which would indicate someone checked the math email after 6PM.

Or maybe he found the emails himself, I don't know, the short reply and cellphone indicates to me irregular computer access.

What's sad is when you look up an old acquaintance on FB and see that they have old pics. The pictures are clearly pretty old -- you can tell by looking at them. And yet, when you look at the photo, you not only remember the people, but you remember them exactly as they were at that time -- nearly 30 years ago. People you grew up with and in some cases, people you loved -- all in these old, old photos. It really makes you feel old.

🙁

How much were you paying for full time school when you were there?

That's a good question. I believe that right now, the state schools are charging $300/hr undergrad. Back when I was in school, I want to say that was what grad school was and undergrad was a shade under $100/hr.

It looks like he sent the message as a subject line response to my chain. Yeah, there's no way that's a normal computer. I must further assume that the direction to call at 10AM tomorrow, no information at this time, means I was right, he was on vacation, and it's been interrupted that he must come back to get his materials.

I feel terrible about disturbing his vacation like that.

My school goes with a flat figure during the semester, but uh, at $5k/semester, and maximum of 20 credit-hours, $250. However, they consider a full-time normal load to be 12, so that would be past $400/hr.

As for summer, undergrad courses go for close to $350/hr.

Man, $100/hr would be so nice. It means I can't just stay in school full time, it's too expensive.

Remember, $100 an hour was in the late 80s/early 90s, so that was quite some time ago.
