Right now, I use less than 10 minutes of talk time per month on my phone. It usually sits in my car, because, with the thick, bulky profile and a partial antenna, it is uncomfortable to carry in my pocket.

I don't suppose you have any input, sdifox? 😛

Canada phone planes are fucked up too so no help from here.

I am on virgin mobile, I get 10 numbers I get to call and text unlimited, voice mail call display and 100 min of anyone else, 7pm-7am weekday and all day week night unlimited. This comes to 40+tax.

No, I don't have a data plan.

I spend multiple hours a day at school during the year. I know where a few computer labs are that are public login, but they may have classes in there at various times.

Whoa, that is fucked up. So... fuck the Canadian and American telecoms!!!

This fall, I will be at school from 9AM until 3PM, with only a single one hour break starting at 11AM. That break will therefore be time to eat lunch, and give me a little time beyond that. If I want to check email, or a few websites, or get in contact with anyone, that would be the only time.

I just remembered - in the last year alone, I've missed at least four opportunities to go into work and pick up an extra shift, because my phone has been away from me.

they paying you for the gas?

Sadly, no. I'm paying for that. And for the courses.

If I manage to pass the courses, I can graduate in 5 years. I think the 4.5 years is lost to me.

If I don't do this, or if I don't pass the courses, I'm pushed out to six years for a BS. And then I might shoot myself.

😱

Those four opportunities would amount to roughly $151 pre-tax dollars. Taxes would peel off about 15% (because fuck the government, that's why), so $128 post-tax. That's 44% of the no-text, or 32% of the w/text.

I'll keep going. I just got rid of a $24/month gym membership. It was $20/month, plus a $50/year administrative fee (lolwut), so technically, $24.25/month when split up.

My alarm clock has become a bit... iffy. I don't even start my computer in the morning before school, because I don't have time for even the two minutes that would take, and I don't want to abuse my precious U2410, nor do I wish to consume that extra power load.

The alarm clock is losing its ability to receive stations, it's at least 25 years old, so I can't complain... but it means I'll need a new one at some point, and haven't ever found one I like.
