Found something. Ten pound plates, with the Olympic hole, are 9" diameter and 1" thick.

Given a sleeve length of 15" minimum, and assuming the collar to be 2", that's still thirteen ten pound plates per side. That's 130+130+45=305. It also means the height from the center of my fist would be only 4.5", and that might be just enough to fit under the ceiling, and the width would work to fit between the joists.

Obviously buying twenty-six 10 pound plates wouldn't be cheap, but it'll be several years before I'd need that anyways.

A stall mat is 3/4" thick, I'll need one to cover up some of the floor's roughness, although I'd love to find a grinder to smooth it out.

Too bad nobody makes a quadruple right angle bar. High lift point, then right angles leading down, right angles leveling out to the keep the weights lower. The joint stress would almost certainly lead to catastrophic results.

I could end up going with a cheaper flat bench as a temporary measure too, if I can manage to reach an OH.

There's a natural gas pipe in the way, and that's totally immobile, probably 2.5 feet, maybe even 3, away from the left wall. It runs perpendicular to the ceiling joists and the lifting bar.

To the other side, there's a copper something, looks like maybe a very thin liquid pipe, and a thick electrical or signal cable, both of them being taut, and therefore immovable. They may or may not be in contact.

It means the overhead press would have to be done way outside the rack to get clear of the fucking gas line.

More extensive measurements will be required, as well as identifying exactly what those items are that are in the way.

Even a standard 300 pound set would allow me to reach... 45 pounds for the bar, probably 5 for the collars, then 2x2.5, 2x5, and 4x10... that's 105 pounds.

Figure I need to leave here about 7:45 AM to be on campus no later than 8:30, which means I'll have a parking space, then go to my 9:30 to 10:20 class. Come home, snack, then drive to Nashua, check out Modell's and Sports Authority's stuff, then come home, eat lunch, and go to work. Fun fun fun.
