Working 2 jobs?

Can't. I effectively have a schedule that is built around getting up at 6AM for an 8AM to 4:30PM job, where I get home sometime around 5:30, sometimes a little later. Thus, my available hours for a second job would be 6PM until about 10PM.

The gaps in my schedule that total to having my time cut in half for the job are built for classes that have been taken from me, so sometimes it's morning, sometimes it's afternoon, sometimes it's mid-day.

That was nice of them, someone called asking if I'd like food brought back. That was unexpected, and thus I sounded rather indecisive. I do despise phones.

Hamburger, chips, and brownie. Yummy lunch!

Do these work study students here like to paw at the screen? It's coated in nasty fingerprints, to say nothing of this grimy, disgusting keyboard. I hope there's hand sanitizer around before eating.

I assume they are probably on their way back then, so I shall log off for now.

Oh, iMac, though I detest your browser, your operating system, your fanbase, your leadership, and your hardware, I do so love your display.

HOLY SHIT, the world is ending, just a few days late! Registrar's office answered in just a couple hours.

But don't worry, they still can't read!

I figure one hour per day is used for regular duties of the job, perhaps tack on another hour per week for odd jobs they need done. I'm here from 8:30 until 5, so let's round that down to eight hours, minus one for lunch, minus one for regular things, leaves six hours. Times five is thirty, minus... well, let's call it minus two, so twenty-eight hours per week, as a full-time job, to do this.

Now times that by twelve to cover the whole duration of the summer. That's... 28, 14, 7, times 12 is 84, times four is 320 + 16 = 336. Yes, this is a depiction of my process for this kind of math, although slowed a little by typing.

Anyways, 336 hours. Now the question is how many entries can I fix per hour.

4-Cyanobenzylhydride 00061-1 R103 100g 3 n/a on hand no 1014

Okay, typing that across took what, 30 seconds, maybe 40? Then I'll need to compare line by line, make sure they're all in the same format, eliminate duplicates. Figure a minute per line?

Let's say I can handle sixty an hour. That seems reasonable. So at full-time status...
336 * 60 = 1800 + 180 + 36 (*10) = 1980 + 36 = 2000 + 16 = 2016 * 10 = 20160.

So if the DB contains 20k items, that's about the maximum I can handle, by myself, working full-time, during the summer.

Yeah, writing that math out takes twice as long as it normally would.

And I'd probably be right if I didn't do such a detailed mental breakdown of it, but the concern of being wrong in some way is crippling to my ability to do really fast math.
