Right now, I have an LG VX8300. It is somewhere around six years old, was my father's phone for the first three years, maybe a little less. It has acquired some scraping around the perimeter, and that's about it for marks - overall, in very good shape for a six year old phone. Standby time is three to five days. Talk usage is less than five minutes per month.

Reception is good at work, excellent at school, excellent at work-school, excellent in the Lakes Region, and absolute shit at home. Lulz.

I've been wanting texting, and a touchscreen web-capable phone for a while. My current usage is five minutes or less talk per month, and nothing else at all. It doesn't even carry with me, it's usually in the car, because it's a clumsy beast to carry, due to the thick body and the antenna.

Thus, I have little comparison to what I may/will do with a smartphone.
