**New Nvidia Drivers**

3dmark06
WinXP = 4332
Vista = 4208

Not bad 0-5% difference isn't bad. But this is only 3dmark.

All i got, still have had time to play any games on vista yet.

Still a beta. When did they say they were releasing WHQL drivers?? End of Feb.??
Just noticed, so it's actually a unified driver now for Vista right? No separate 8800 driver?

You already gave nVidia the dollar when you bought the card. They have to supply us with WHQL drivers.

Yes, same with the 100.59 beta driver that was out on Feb. 5th.

I'm still waiting for flat planel scaling.
Same here... :frown:

Update:

The flat panel scaling option is actually here. The video color settings even appear to work -- that is, without dialing the gamma way down and turning everything purple whenever the computer boots or wakes from standby.

:thumbsup:

The bad news is that the nVidia drivers web page is down for maintenance. Even worse, the maintenance page says that it will be back up by December 30th at 6:00 p.m. PST. I'm hoping this is a typo. /understatement

Update 2:

Flat panel scaling is present in the nVidia control panel app, but the settings aren't saved and don't do anything yet -- how frustrating!

You guys with flat panel scaling issues, does your monitor have this feature in the options? I know mine does and i am unsure if all monitors have this feature or not.

Ok, just hooked up my CRT Trinitron after I RMAed my Sceptre 22". I games on Call of Duty2 again WTF. My cards performance felt like SH!T. Must not have noticed it too much when I was gaming on the Sceptre cause THAT wasnt to good.

Im not feeling too many warm and fuzzy feelings for Nvidia ATM, and I hope that changes RIGHT F'N quick. I shouldnt be seeing jerkiness at any level with as much horsepower as this card has.

Im going to try and reload windows... been a while since I have done that and Ive installed some new hardware and never refreshed my Windows. Hopefully that will help. Some good drivers is what we need though, not jut for Vista, but for XP! Id like to think that a powerhouse like nvidia could be able to engineer a friggen badass driver.

Or, maybe the 8800GTX was optimized for Vista and that OS. Wont know for awhile until I get Ultimate, so off I go into reformat land.

EDIT: It may have been some net lag I was experiencing, but It just didnt feel right. Ill check sigle player to make sure.

These seem to be the G80 series drivers, are they ok for a 6600gt?

You can use them with Geforce 6 and 7 series cards, but it is advisable that you stick to their dedicated drivers as these are more refined towards the 8 series.

To answer the question, yes you can use them if you so choose.

It's laptop video to go. It is a very respected driver site. If you don't trust me, Guru3d and TweaksRUs has the same thing linked up as well.

I apologize if I come off rude, but stop crapping my thread. The links I post there are very credible and I don't appreciate you second guessing it.

Guru3D got the file from here, compressed it and hosted it on their own. It is on the front page of www.TweaksRUs.com. NVNews has also linked to it according to TweaksRUs. I don't know what more you want from me.

-Kevin

Amusingly enough, if you head to Guru3D... nVidia requested that they removed the 100.65 WHQL drivers and Guru3D did so.

Thankfully GP posted the other link to them in this thread so I was able to get it! :thumbsup:

Thank you so much for the link to these drivers ( the 100.65's). Oblivion ran like crap on my setup (2 7800GTX's) but with these the performance is back up to XP levels...well almost, but thank you so much man!

I'll have to give the 100.65 a try. My Oblivion performance has been crap with 100.64, like minimunch.

Anyone know what's the appropriate method for driver installation in Vista? Does DCPro work with Vista?
