New nVidia Detonators - v28.32 Official.......

Whats up with these? I tried them (Win2K) and get no nV display properties. Just a Geforce3 adapter, no place to set anything. Anyone else?

Please advise! Should I install these? I really don't want to screw up my system 'cause I need it to work. Anyone try re-installing old drivers? Does the properties tab come back?

thanks!

Same problem here,I wonder if this is a new thing or not?

Also OpenGL is still stuck at 60hz 🙁,I guess I need to find a NVfix that will work on these 28.32 drivers or go back to my old ones.

Sounds like they posted a bad build... you might be able to copy an .inf file from the 27 drivers to get the missing tab populated. It's probably display.inf or cpl.inf or something like that... compare the files on the two sets of drivers... I suspect that they will have it fixed later today or a hack to fix it will be found.

I'm still at work so I can't install these yet. The missing TAB is a generally a sign that these are WHQL drivers (tweaking is bad according to Microsoft [eyes roll]). I wish they'd mention this before you actually install them.

Anyway, when I get home I'll try that old trick of using an older nvcpl.dll file to get the control panel back. Those who don't want to wait and don't know what I'm talking about. Extract the driver files from the .exe with Winzip into a temp directory, copy/paste the nvcpl.dll file from it's closest equivalent into the temp directory (in this case, probably v27.70), and then run the setup.exe to perform the install.

Usually, this takes care of the problem. Manually copy/pasting the file into they c:\windows\system file (overwriting the existing one) without doing another reinstall does not work all the time in my experience, but you can try that if it's easier for you.

Same here. In the past that is all the offical drivers had. In fact that is usually all the drivers that come with windows or are on MS's website have. However they are over 8MB so I assume the support is still there. Also they still have OpenGL 1.3.1 which is good as its the latest. I have improved image quality.

nvcpl.dll is missing. We can come up with conspiracy theories about Nvidia / MS and WHQL certification, but it is very likely that it's just a simple mistake.

You can only get the nview options if you log in as administrator... as for the opengl and d3d tabs.. yeah they're missing.. but I doubt that it was a mistake.

These drivers seem to be worthless... as they perform exactly the same as the 23.12's and they get rid of the tweaking tabs.

From 3dgpu.com

<< OK folks, I just got off the phone with NVIDIA. It seems as if someone uploaded the wrong driver set to their site, hence the missing NVIDIA Control Panel applets. The correct ones should be available in the next hour or so, I'll let you know... >>

A further note from the 3DGPU web site: the correct drivers will be 28.80 vice 28.32. The 28.80s should be available sometime today.

<< What exactly are you guys missing? >>

The OpenGL and D3D settings stuff like FSAA etc ,try finding them 😉,that`s why the Nvidia Control panel is missing.

This from 3DGPU:

"OK folks, I just got off the phone with NVIDIA. It seems as if someone uploaded the wrong driver set to their site, hence the missing NVIDIA Control Panel applets. The correct ones should be available in the next hour or so, I'll let you know...

Matt: From what I understand when I talked to NVIDIA, we should be getting the 28.80 drivers today. I asked NVIDIA about the Digital Vibrance issue, where it shuts off when you start a game, and they said that it has been fixed. That's surely good news. "

They are up now, still listed as 28.32 but says they are updated the right ones now. 🙂

Update:
I installed the newly updated 28.32's from their NVidia's site and they DO now contain everything.
🙂

I see no mention of it, but I hope that these drivers go some way towards resolving those annoying blue screens in Windows XP.

When I click on settings under display properties then click on advanced i get a panel with gf3 ti 200 device selection ect. Then I click on additional properties and get open gl and 3d antailising settings ect.

DO I have the right driver?

I downloaded the update an hour or so ago before nividia said "these are updated now" but it appears I got everything.

I just want to make sure.

I so badly want to use these new drivers with my Ti4600, but don't want to deal with the refresh rate problem. NVreffix does not work with the newest set of drivers. (27.42 and up)

What are you guys doing to solve this issue in XP/2000?
