New Nvidia Beta Drivers

Okay, so there's this problem with the dvi connection from my 6800GT. When I try to watch a fullscreen dvd on a dell 2005fpw, it gets these lines through the picture. I've heard that the new beta drivers might fix that problem, but when I try to install them, it tells me I've got some kind of Hardware installation process running still. It appears that the safely remove hardware thing is there for both of my SATA drives and for my printer...but I can't find any other hardware installation problems. Anyone got any ideas?
